03The grid

Where electricity changes hands.

Between a power plant and a light switch, voltage changes several times. Every one of those changes happens inside a transformer.

Generation

21kV

typ. 10.5–21 kV at the generator

Generation

Coal, gas, water, wind or sun — generators turn mechanical energy into electricity, typically at medium voltage. Power quality and stability start here.

Step-up

A transformer raises the voltage. Higher voltage means lower current, and lower current means less energy lost on the way.

Transmission

Overhead lines and underground cables carry bulk power over long distances and tie regions into one interconnected grid.

Step-down

At the substation, transformers bring the voltage back down so it can be distributed safely.

Distribution

Feeders and local lines supply homes, businesses and industry — with protection, metering and automation keeping it safe and smart.

Four areas of expertise. One standard.

Electricity and fuel take different paths to the people who use them. Our engineering follows both — from the transformer on the grid to the nozzle at the pump.

05Oil & Gas

From soil test to first fill.

  1. 01Site assessment

    Survey and soil testing come before a single plate is ordered. The ground decides the foundation.

  2. 02Tank type & design

    Fixed roof, floating roof or underground — chosen for the product and the site, and designed to international standards for strength and corrosion resistance.

  3. 03Foundation & containment

    Robust foundations, bund walls and drainage are built to contain a spill before it can go anywhere.

  4. 04Plates & welding

    High-quality steel plates are cut, shaped and welded course by course, using certified welding procedures.

  5. 05Non-destructive testing

    Every weld is inspected by NDT to prevent leaks and structural failures.

  6. 06Coating & cathodic protection

    Specialised coatings inside and out, plus cathodic protection, hold corrosion back and extend service life.

  7. 07Safety systems

    Vents, overfill protection, fire-fighting connections and gas detection are designed in, not added later.

  8. 08Hydrostatic test & commissioning

    The tank is filled with water, checked for tightness and commissioned — ready to operate safely in demanding industrial environments.
