ATank types

Chosen for the product and the site.

The right tank type comes out of the site assessment and the product it will hold — then the design follows international standards.

  • 01

    Fixed roof

A roof welded to the shell. A robust, economical choice for a wide range of stored products.

  • 02

    Floating roof

A roof that rides on the liquid itself, rising and falling with the level and keeping the vapour space above the product to a minimum.

  • 03

    Underground

Buried storage for sites where space, safety or the surroundings call for the tank to disappear below grade.

BBuild it step by step

CKnow-how

Eight stages, no shortcuts.

  1. 01

    Site assessment

Survey and soil testing come before a single plate is ordered. The ground decides the foundation.

  2. 02

    Tank type & design

Fixed roof, floating roof or underground — chosen for the product and the site, and designed to international standards for strength and corrosion resistance.

  3. 03

    Foundation & containment

Robust foundations, bund walls and drainage are built to contain a spill before it can go anywhere.

  4. 04

    Plates & welding

High-quality steel plates are cut, shaped and welded course by course, using certified welding procedures.

  5. 05

    Non-destructive testing

Every weld is inspected by NDT to prevent leaks and structural failures.

  6. 06

    Coating & cathodic protection

Specialised coatings inside and out, plus cathodic protection, hold corrosion back and extend service life.

  7. 07

    Safety systems

Vents, overfill protection, fire-fighting connections and gas detection are designed in, not added later.

  8. 08

    Hydrostatic test & commissioning

The tank is filled with water, checked for tightness and commissioned — ready to operate safely in demanding industrial environments.
